Town in valley of stream Malá Skalice. First mentioned in the year 1238, since 16th century the small town and since 1859 the town. In the year 1942 the towns Česká Skalice and malá Skalice put together. The look of town has been changed by often fires. Interesting building is for example the Neo-gothic old town-hall on the square from the year 1864. You can visit also the museum of famous writer Božena Němcová in the former restaurant building. The former Gothic church in Malá Skalice has been several time rebuilt, last in the year 1905. Česká Skalice is one of the starting points to romantic valley Babiččino údolí.
